Route du Rhum 2026: The Big Departure for William Mathelin-Moreaux, Supported by Dekuple Group!

This Sunday, November 1st at 1:02 PM, the starting gun for the legendary Route du Rhum will be fired off the coast of Saint-Malo. The Dekuple Group is extremely proud to accompany and support our skipper, William Mathelin-Moreaux, who sets off today for a 3,500-nautical-mile solo crossing to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe.

A Major Challenge for His 3rd Participation

For his third time competing in this legendary race, William has stacked the odds in his favor. At the helm of his Class40, he is preparing to take on the Atlantic and a highly competitive fleet of 48 rivals.

The preparation for this transatlantic race has been intense, and the 2026 season has already allowed William to validate his technical and strategic choices with some great performances, notably a superb 2nd place in the Armen Race last May and a 9th place in the highly demanding DRHeam Cup this summer. After leaving the Saint-Malo pontoons at dawn this morning, our skipper is now entering his bubble, focused on the weather, strategy, and speed.

A Human and Solidary Adventure

While the Route du Rhum is a major sporting achievement, the project led by William is above all a deeply human adventure that resonates with the values of the Dekuple Group.

On the sails of his boat, the Class40 Patapain Les Invincibles, William carries with him committed partners and a noble cause. Beyond pure performance, this crossing highlights the Les Invincibles association and actively supports the fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease / Charcot disease). It is the strength of this collective, combining self-transcendence, solidarity, and team spirit, that gives our commitment by his side its full meaning.

All Behind William!

For the days to come, from the Dekuple Group’s offices all the way to the finish line in Guadeloupe, we will have our eyes glued to the race tracker.

We invite all our employees, partners, and readers to closely follow this incredible odyssey and send all their positive vibes to William. Fair winds to him, and see you on the other side of the Atlantic!
